What is a tablet computer?
The term “tabet” or “tablet computer” generally refers to a range of different touch-screen devices.
Devices similar to tablets have been available for many years, sometimes know as “slate” pcs.
The tablet computer has seen a marked rise in popularity since the introduction of the Apple iPad.
Tablets are usually able to browse the internet, and also may include “apps” and games.
Apple iPad
The Apple iPad and subsequent iPad 2 are market leading tablet computers.
The iPad gives the user access to hundreds of thousands of apps from the Apple app store.
Android Tablets
Android – the mobile operating system from Google – powers many different types of tablets.
