This article lists the different types of learners.
Each student is a unique package, but they can be grouped according to their learning styles.
There are three major theories about learning style to consider.
Each theory has value and offers helpful ideas, so teachers should consider all possibilities and combinations when planning lessons.
This familiar theory tells us that students learn best by seeing, hearing, moving or a combination of the three.
When teaching visual learners, teachers need to provide posters, digital displays, books or handouts with graphics.
Use color, size and position to highlight information.
For auditory learners, present information through discussion, lecture, reading aloud or recorded interviews.
Kinesthetic learners will appreciate experiments, demonstrations and videos.
The notion of being “right-brained” or “left-brained” comes from the Hemispheric Dominance Theory.
This theory holds that language, logic and seeing the whole are the province of the left side of the brain and creative thought, insight and intuition come from the right side.
One side or the other is usually dominant, and this impacts how students learn best.
Teach right-brained students by giving them lots of facts and information.
Their dominant way of thinking will help them connect pieces into a whole idea.
Teach left-brained students by presenting the whole and allowing them to analyze and pick apart the pieces.
Show them connections and ideas and they will be able to understand the big picture more fully.
The Experiential Learning Style Theory explains learning preferences in terms of two sliding scales.
The perceptual scale tells how students like to take in information.
Learners may prefer to get their knowledge by directly observing things or by spending quiet time reflecting and thinking about their world.
The processing scale tells how they like to work with information.
Some have a pronounced preference for direct, active experiences and others prefer reflecting and observing.
Both aspects are based on sliding scales, where learners are judged to be more like one end or the other, but few are completely described at either extreme.
Put the scales together in a cross form, and you can categorize learners into four groups based on which ends of the two scales are more applicable.
Divergent learners like to feel and watch.
Try brainstorming, cooperative learning, and imaginative techniques.
Assimilating Learners like to think and watch.
They move from details to larger concepts, so models, experiments and projects are effective.
Converging learners like to think and do.
Use problem solving, application and independent work to teach this group effectively.
Accommodating Learners like to feel and do.
Discovery learning and trial and error techniques can be most effective.
Of course, groups of students will contain all of these types of learners.
Furthermore, most people are not clearly at any extreme but rather have tendencies and preferences to one type or another.
Stress, interest, experience and group dynamics can also impact students’ learning styles.
So how does one manage to meet all of these divergent needs within the same classroom and lesson?
The answer is to use a multitude of presentation techniques to help students understand the information and to offer a range of response pathways to cement learning and demonstrate mastery.
Present information with hands-on techniques such as demonstrations or models, use visual prompts and cues like posters, banners, and graphics, lecture while using Smartboard or Powerpoint presentations, and so forth.
Provide practice opportunities and assessment by allowing students to choose from an array of assignments including projects, reports or presentations, problems to solve, webquests, interviews and so forth.
Evaluate student progress by setting goals and objectives for each teaching unit then grading with a rubric-based system.
These websites provide additional information about learning styles and how to use the information to design effective lessons.
There are also quizzes and tools to help teachers and students discover more about their personal learning styles.
The following videos may be useful for anyone that wants to learn more about the different types of learners.

Pasta is a favourite type of food for millions of people all over the world. Many pasta dishes can be easy to cook and can make great family meals. However many people do not realise is that there are actually lots different types of pasta. Let’s take a look.
Fresh pasta can be found in almost every supermarket these days, and a lot of people prefer to cook with this kind of pasta.
Many people will actually make their own fresh pasta at home and use that for whatever dish that they are cooking.
The good thing about fresh pasta is that it is very easy to work with and only takes minutes to cook through.
Of course, fresh pasta does not have a very long shelf life in comparison to dried pasta.
Dried pasta is the most commonly used forms of pasta in households today.
Obviously, the main reason for this is that dried pasta will last a lot longer than fresh pasta.
The other good thing about dried pasta is that you can get virtually every kind of pasta in a dried version.
The only real downside to this type of pasta is that it takes longer to cook, depending on the type in question.
Long form pasta noodles are usually made by extrusion or by a process of rolling and cutting.
One of the most popular types of pasta: spaghetti is a type of long form pasta.
Spaghetti pasta is very commonly used in dishes such as Spaghetti Bolognese; a favourite in a lot of households.
There are also many other forms of long pasta. For example, Tagliatelle is another common type of long pasta. This type is typically used in Carbonara dishes.

Sort form pasta is probably the most commonly used type of pasta in the United Kingdom.
This type of pasta comes in many different shapes and sizes, and it can be used in a wide range of dishes.
The term ‘Shaped Pasta’ covers a very wide range of different types of pasta.
However, more often than not, the majority of us will use some form of shaped pasta with our pasta dishes.
For example, twisted pasta shapes are very commonly used.
Another popular style is pasta shells, of which there are many different types.
These days you can even get special fun shaped pasta that is designed to encourage kids to eat it. These shapes will usually be of their favourite cartoon character or similar.
If you are planning on making your own fresh pasta then you can make it into absolutely any shape that you fancy. There really are no limits.
Stuffed pasta is another highly popular type. The good thing about stuffed pasta is that you do not have to add anything to it if you do not want to, as you can just have the pasta as a meal on its own.
There are many different fillings that can be found in stuffed pasta. Some are meat based, though there of course many different vegetarian options available as well, such mozzarella cheese or ricotta. If you are making the pasta from scratch then you can put whatever you want inside as a filling.
Some famous types of stuffed pasta include: ravioli, tortelloni, tortelli, capelletti, pansotti, tortellini, raviolo…
Lasagne sheets are used to make the very popular Italian dish lasagne. There are a lot of different variations of this type of pastas, but the most commonly used is the dried form. These sheets are simply placed within the layers of the lasagne and cooked in the oven. This is a very popular dish, and very easy to make as well.
The types of pasta mentioned above hardly scratch the surface. There are hundreds of different types, it just takes some time to figure out which types you like cooking with, and which types you don’t!

Just like choosing any type of insurance cover, whether it is home, car etc. travel insurance can sometimes be a time consuming task as you need to make sure you are covered for any activity or eventuality that might occur during your time away.Nowadays, this drawn out affair has been made easier with many insurance providers setting out a clear breakdown of the various types of holiday insurance packages available which can then be tailored to specific needs and preferences.
Below we list a clear guide to some of the travel insurance cover available and what each one means:
Usually the policy of choice for holidaymakers embarking on their annual trip away, as the name suggests, this offers you travel insurance for one trip only. When this type of insurance is taken out, it is normal practice to specify your departure and return dates in order to be covered efficiently for the duration of that period.
The policy of choice for travel enthusiasts who travel regularly throughout the year and are therefore highly likely to benefit from annual travel insurance. This policy generally covers an unlimited number of trips over the course of a year, providing each trip lasts for 90 days or less. Annual travel insurance can often be tailored with extras for each trip, such as cover for sports and expeditions that you might undertake.
Highly popular amongst those aged 18–25 who are embarking on a gap year abroad, backpack insurance differs slightly from annual travel insurance as this covers trips away for prolonged periods of time, usually between 31 days and 18 months. As backpackers are more likely to indulge in a range of activities during their time away, backpacker insurance usually covers a number of the most popular ventures including bungee jumping and mountain biking. Extras such as winter sports cover can also be added to create a more tailored travel insurance policy.
Obviously not one for the beach combers but made for those who enjoy escaping to the mountains for during the winter months. As many winter sports come with a risk factor, this means that they often require extra insurance to cover any unfortunate accidents. This is why the specialist winter sports cover was developed.

We all want to help the environment, so we thought we would make it easy for you to find an environmentally friendly electric car.
This is free guide to the different types of electric cars in the UK from Types.org.uk.
Note: if you are in the UK make sure you read about the Plug-in car grant on the DfT website here.
There are now many different types of green cars available to buy from both independent motor companies and the larger car manufacturers such as Toyota, Ford, Renault and Volvo.
The Nissan Leaf is fully electric, no petrol, zero emissions with a range of up to 160km.
“LEAF” is an acronym for “Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, Family car“.
The Nissan Leaf was first released in the UK in March, 2011. At time of writing the price in the UK is £30,990.
The official range for the Nissan Leaf is 160km though the average was found to be 117km, still high for an electric car.
Renault’s new Fluence Z.E. is set to be the cheapest mainstream electric car available in the UK, retailing at £17,850 – after the £5,000 “Plug-In Car Grant” subsidy.
“Z.E.” stands for “Zero Emissions”.

This article lists some of the best types of Samsung Galaxy S2 cases available.
These are the best Samsung Galaxy S2 cases available, which are sturdy enough to protect your phone, look great, and have some killer features. Let’s get started!
As you might guess from the name, this case is hard as nails. Unlike other cases, which typically rely on a single layer of protection, this case is dual layer.
On the inside, there’s a soft silicone layer, which wraps around your Galaxy S2. This padding allows the case to absorb suddent impacts and shocks, so if you happen to accidentally drop your Galaxy SII you know it’ll be safe.
The outer layer, a hard plastic shell, further increases the level of protection available. This shell is also much easier to hold than other cases, and looks great with its fine mesh too. This Mix and Match Hybrid Tough case really lives up to its name, providing advanced protection for your precious smartphone, and is truly one of the best Samsung Galaxy S2 cases available.
The Mesh Vent from Samsung is a unique and fetching Samsung Galaxy SII case. Its eponymous large mesh protects your phone from drop damage and scratches, and gives the phone an attractive and solid look. The case is also available in quite a range of colours, from a professional black to more vibrant reds, blues and pinks.
As the Galaxy can sometimes feel a bit flimsy due to its incredibly thin size, this official Samsung accessory will go a long way towards making the whole package one that you believe in. And because it’s from Samsung, you know that it will fit perfectly, with access vents in all the right places, and be held up to their high standards of construction.

The SGP Ultra Silke is another Galaxy S2 case with a unique look and feel. The Ultra Silke is all about sophistication, with a soft understated silicone shell that protects your phone without making it clunky.
The scratch and shock resistant case is also surprisingly durable, due to the high grade of silicone used in its construction. The case is also coated to resist dust and fingerprints, a common stumbling block for lower quality cases.
Above all though, the Ultra Silke looks fantastic, with soft rounded corners that accentuate the S2’s already slim figure. If you’re looking for a case that makes a subtle statement, this is it.

The Advanced Flexishield Skin is a two part product, offering a clear or solid black skin and a Galaxy S2 screen protector in the same box.
The skin itself is quite minimal, sporting anti-shock protection (for accidental drops) and a non-slip surface. While the protection offered isn’t on par with more conservative (and bulky) products, you get to keep the full effect of the Galaxy’s stunningly thin frame — and with the clear case option, you can even show off the already-beautiful chassis of the phone.
The Advanced Flexishield Skin is an excellent budget option, offering moderate protection and a handy screen protector in a single package.

Case-Mate have long proven themselves to be capable of producing top quality smartphone cases, and their newest line, the Pop, doesn’t buck the trend.
This Samsung Galaxy SII case has a unique feature, a pop-out leg embedded in the rear of the device. This leg allows you to keep the phone upright at a suitable viewing angle, which I’ve found incredibly handy for watching YouTube videos and keeping tabs on incoming notifications.
The Pop is also quite sturdy, offering a very good level of protection from drops and scratches. While the case is bulkier than others, I found that the extra weight makes the phone feel much sturdier and easier to hold onto.
Overall, it’s a clever idea and one that I found myself using much more often than I anticipated. If you’re like me and keep your phone on your desk a lot, then the Pop makes a lot of sense.
The Galaxy S2 has managed to hit that critical mass that everyone and their grandmother is trying to make a case for it. There’s some excellent ideas and adaptions here, from emphasising its slim design to offering maximum protection, so if you’re looking for a Galaxy case then I’m sure you’ll find one that fits you.

Article about the different types of car insurance in the UK.
Contents
Third party is the type of car insurance that most people will go for. It is usually the cheapest, and it is the minimum type of car insurance that you are allowed legally. This type of insurance usually offers the minimum amount of protection. For example, it will cover any injuries to passengers within your car, and other people outside of your car. As well as this, it will cover you if you are in an accident and you damage someone else’s car. However, it will not cover damage to your own car.
Third party fire and theft car insurance will cover all of the things that have been mentioned above. However, it will also cover you if your car is stolen, or if it becomes fire damaged. This is not a very popular type of car insurance. This is because it is considerably more expensive than third party car insurance and it really doesn’t offer much more in terms of protection. This is why many people will go for basic insurance, or for something more expensive.
Comprehensive cover is something that a lot of car owners go for these days. It is a lot more expensive, but it does offer much more in terms of protection. For example, it will cover you if there is accidental damage to your car. It also covers you if someone damages your car on purpose. It will cover medical expenses if you are injured in an accident, up to a certain point. These types of policies will also cover glass replacement for the windows in your car. There are also many other things that will be covered by a comprehensive car insurance policy.
As you can see, there are a lot of things to consider when buying car insurance. You need to think about the area in which you live, for example. As well as this, you need to consider your financial situation. There are lots of different factors that can affect a car insurance quote. There are lots of different providers, so many use an insurance comparison website to get car insurance.
You can compare insurance from a range of different car insurance providers, which means it is possible you could save money compared to more expensive quotes.
If you are a car owner then you will already know the importance of insuring your car. This is why it is important that you learn what the different types of car insurance are and what they do before you actually pay for a policy.

Titanium hair straighteners are probably the most affordable out of the ones that are able to give professional results.
One good thing about these types of hair straighteners is the fact that they are very durable, especially in comparison with some of the others.
They are also scratch resistant which makes them even better.

They are definitely one of the best types of hair straighteners on the market.
Tourmaline hair straighteners are usually found in salons.
The results that can be reduced by tourmaline hair straighteners are far more high quality than the other types of hair straighteners mentioned above, and the results that they produce are highly professional.
The only bad thing about tourmaline hair straighteners is that they are very expensive and it is unlikely that you will be able to find an affordable pair.
However, saving up the money to be able to afford a pair of tourmaline straighteners is definitely worth it.
